Saline, MI— Monroe PMP, with the support of its partner, Saline Lectronics, recently acquired the net assets of Xycom Automation Inc. ’s VME business unit. Their purchase agreement allows the buyers to design, manufacture, maintain, market, and sell the complete XVME product line. Saline Lectronics, Xycom’s former VME contract board manufacturer, currently manufactures 95% of Xycom’s VME products.
Though no longer owned by Xycom, the VME business unit division will be called “Xycom VME.” It will be run by Jerry Tubbs and supported by core staff from Xycom’s former Embedded business unit. Tubbs was the business unit manager of Xycom’s Embedded Systems Group.
“This transaction is a positive move for the Xycom VME team, and will allow us to be 100% focused on VME and embedded manufacturing!” says Tubbs. “This new entity brings direct manufacturing facilities and capabilities back to the Xycom VME group, providing increased operational efficiencies and responsiveness to current and new embedded business opportunities.”
Already a market leader for three decades, Xycom VME provides equipment manufacturers with board-level microcomputer and I/O solutions. These solutions are used in machine control, test and data acquisition, medical equipment, automotive test and assembly, robots, scanning equipment, semi-conductor manufacturing, military, industrial welders, power generation, and high-speed packaging applications. Xycom VME hardware and software products are installed in over 200,000 systems worldwide, and in numerous individual OEM applications.
