Düsseldorf, Germany/Chicago, Ill. – Two national trade shows thematically related to Interkama , “the leading trade fair for automation and IT in the process industries,” will be held for the first time in the growing markets of China and India in 2003.
Interkama China will make its debut March 18-21, 2003, at the Shanghai (Pudong) New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC)-reputed to be the most modern and efficient exhibition complex in East Asia. Opened in 2001, the column-free halls of the exhibition center offer the latest in amenities and conveniences to both visitors and exhibitors. U.S. architects designed SNIEC. The event will be organized by Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd. (Shanghai), a subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf.
Interkama had been previously associated with another technology exhibition in China-Miconex, International Fair for Measurement, Instrumentation, and Automation. That cooperation has been discontinued in order to concentrate on Interkama China. On to India
Later in 2003, the new Hitex Exhibition Center in Hyderabad will be the venue for the first Interkama India, running September 24-27. India is considered to be an attractive market in the future of automation. Responsible for the staging of this trade fair is CIDEX (German Exhibition India-Cologne Düsseldorf)-a joint-venture company founded in 2001 by the two fair organizers KölnMesse GmbH and Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. CIDEX is located in New Delhi.
To further promote the event and attract high-caliber investors, Interkama India 2003-with its appeal to supply-side industries-will take place concurrently with two trade fairs important to the user industries: Biotech India and Pharma India. A concentration of biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturers is located in the region around Hyderabad.
At ISA 2002 in Chicago in October, a press conference will announce these Asian shows to the U.S. audience. Interkama’s president, Dipl.-Ing. Anton Huber (also group executive director A&D Division of Siemens AG), will be one of the speakers.
