Networking used to improve superconducting magnet
The world's largest and most powerful particle smasher large hadron collider (LHC) at CERN has restarted circulating beams of protons and it uses a lot of CANopen networks to control the high-energy physical experiments.
Two controller standard recommendations released
CAN in Automation (CiA) has released two Controller Area Network (CAN) FD related recommendations. CiA 601-1 recommends the physical layer design and 601-2 provides guidelines for the controller interface to the host controller.
Standards for drives and motion controllers updated
CAN in Automation (CiA) has released a version of the CiA 402-2 CANopen profile for drives and motion controllers and they've also released CiA 402-6, which described process data object (PDO) mapping for CANopen FD.
