AVG acquired a distributor/system integrator, opened five new EZAutomation franchises outside the U.S., plans to launch 10 new product lines in first-quarter 2006, and is offering a free software upgrade to EZTouch users, according to recent company announcements. AVG says that news follows an average 20% monthly growth in EZAutomation sales this year, according to Shalli Kumar, AVG’s president and CEO. Products leading that growth are EZTouchPLC and EZMarquee, Kumar says.
AVG acquired Genius Automation (a 100-person Bangalore, India, distributor/system integrator). Kumar called the firm “one of largest system integrators and distributors in India,” with 20 years of experience applying products, including those from GE Fanuc and Rockwell Automation. AVG also is opening four other EZAutomation franchises outside the US (Germany, Spain, Italy, U.K.), adding to an already opened Australian franchise.
Kumar says EZAutomation’s launch of 10 new product lines early in 2006 includes sensors, encoders, time delay relays, counters, power supplies, and others.
Kumar also offers an immediate, free software upgrade to nearly 20,000 users of EZTouch. Upgrade includes “overlapping of objects, monitoring of tags, bit-map creation and editing within the programming software, EZpacker OEM/SI utility, free sizing of objects, and a 4,000-symbol library,” he says.
Costs of the acquisition and expansion were not disclosed.
