Caterpillar has purchased and plans to deploy Invention Machine Corporation ’s Goldfire Innovator to its engineers and research and development staff.
Goldfire Innovator is used to design new products and processes; improve and extend existing products and processes; plan market, technology and competitive strategies; leverage and protect intellectual property; and operate corporate innovation knowledge portals.The software offers, within a single desktop platform, an integrated suite of innovation applications, workflows, tools, and content including:
Proven problem-analysis tools and methodologies that automate and facilitate the ideation process, enable detailed value analysis of systems and processes, and help to define and prioritize engineering problems and solutions;
A semantic knowledge engine designed to extract and provide fast, pinpoint access to targeted engineering and R&D content; and
Access to worldwide patent databases and to more than 9,000 scientific effects and 2,000 scientific websites.
