Marion, Ind. -VIA Schematic Jr. includes three modules from the VIA Electrical Controls Design Software Suite to make the design software more affordable to. The software accelerates creation of electrical control schematics, bills of material, and panel layout drawings. The library of symbols and pre-drawn circuits works within AutoCAD allowing engineers to create a schematic with little custom drawing. Optional interfaces can read selected PLC programs automatically creating I/O drawings. Bill of Material Jr. extracts a part list from the schematic and automatically generates a bill of materials. Panel Builder Jr. pulls information from the schematic to supply a list of devices to place on the panel. Device footprints are contained in a database for easy placement on the panel drawing.
