Pine Brook, N.J. -Hirschmann has expanded its industrial line of Ethernet solutions to include a new series of Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/sec.) DIN rail mountable switches, hubs, and transceivers. Addressing the needs to support industrial requirements, the HMN-3760 series uses 24Vdc power, is impervious to EMI, dirt, and temperature fluctuations up to 60 deg. C (140 deg. F). The RS2 fast switch operates at 100 Mbit/sec in half-duplex and 200 Mbit/sec in full duplex. When used in a redundant scheme, on board error detection circuitry switches the RS2 to the redundant network within 300 milliseconds. The RT2 fast transceiver is designed for 100 Mbit/sec between twisted-pair copper and optical fiber and can extend the transmission route to 2,000 meters (2,187 yards) in a multi-mode optical fiber line, or up to 40 kilometers (25 miles) if single-mode is used.
