Frank Lamb, founder and owner of Automation Consulting, LLC, of Lebanon, Tenn., joined the Control Engineering editorial advisory board in April.
Control Engineering announced on Apr. 26 that Frank Lamb, founder and owner of Automation Consulting, LLC, has joined its editorial advisory board to provide input to editinorial staff on editorial content, relevancy, automation market, and audience; to serve as a first-level sounding board for new initiatives and ideas; and to participate in events and contribute editorially.
Lamb is a consultant and electrical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in electronics and industrial controls. Lamb served 8 years in the U.S. Air Force as an instructor and electronics specialist, 4 years as a product specialist for controls manufacturer distributors, and owned a systems integration and custom machine building company from 1996 to 2006. From 2006-2011, Lamb worked for the largest U.S.-based custom machine building company as a project engineer.
Lamb now consults and teaches classes on programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other industrial automation topics. Lamb has published two books, one on general industrial automation and another on programming for PLCs (programmable logic controllers).
Lamb also has a blog, Automation Primer, which is a CFE Media content partner, and has content on PLCs, ladder logic, and sensors have appeared regularly since 2014. Lamb lives in Lebanon, Tenn.
