Jeff Garwood, president and CEO of GE Fanuc, called the move a “key extension of our hardware and software product line. As we increase our commitment to the defense electronics market, we will provide a complete line of hardware and software solutions, ranging from benign through rugged environments, including air and conduction-cooled applications. Additions to the multiprocessor product portfolio in 2006 will support expanded environmental requirements with the latest PowerPC, switched-fabric, and communications technology.”
GE Fanuc Embedded Systems is part of GE Fanuc Automation Corp., a joint venture between GE and Fanuc Ltd. of Japan.
