cPCI power supplies, the latest addition to the CompactPCI line, are fully compliant to the PICMG 2.11 power interface specification and fitted as standard with a Positronic 47-pin connector. They are enabled for hot-swap and parallel redundancy; extra-high power density allows up to 40 A to be drawn from the +3.3 V dc output and 30 A from the +5 V dc output at 55 °C. Two input options are available: universal ac (90-264 V ac) at up to 440 Hz with active power factor correction and 48 V dc. Two main outputs feature remote sense, and all units include OR-ing diodes allowing single-wire current sharing for increasing output power or n+1 redundant operation. Typical applications include embedded computing, industrial systems, process control, and security.
