The hollow shaft allows electrical or pneumatic lines to be directed through the center of the motor so they can be stacked end-to-end or used in robotic end-effector applications. The motor can be applied to a ballscrew linear actuator by mounting a miniature ballscrew to the front shaft face. IOS can replace gearboxes in applications where they are used for inertia dampening between the motor and load. It operates up to 3,000 rpm and is compatible with off-the-shelf bipolar chopper microstepping drives. Intelligent Motion Systems Inc.
