Invensys buys software, service companies

Invensys' engineering and control group recently bought UK Data Collection Services Ltd. (UKDCS, Milton Keynes, U.K.) and Com-Trol (Mansfield, O.) for a total of £52 million, expanding the company's software and services position. UKDCS collects and analyzes data from more than 70,000 high-function electricity meters in the U.

Invensys’ engineering and control group recently bought UK Data Collection Services Ltd. (UKDCS, Milton Keynes, U.K.) and Com-Trol (Mansfield, O.) for a total ofrer of electronic control systems for commercial refrigeration applications, such as supermarkets, food service and convenience stores. Invensys paid £38.5 million for UKDCS, which was sold by U.K.’s 12 regional electricity companies. Com-Trol was sold for £13.9 million. Both companies will operate within Invensys’ controls division.
