Houston, TX— AutomationDirect has teamed up with the Profibus Trade Organization (PTO) at ISA Expo 2003 to showcase the company’s PLC, I/O, and operator interface products, which support the Profibus communication protocol.
AutomationDirect has five hardware systems on display at PTO’s exhibit at Booth #1623, all certified using Profibus DP. These products include DL05 and DL06 micro PLCs, which use H0-PSCM Profibus slave controller module. H0-PSCM allows any DL05 or DL06 PLC sub-system to be linked with a Profibus master controller.
Also on display are DL205 and Terminator I/O remote I/O systems using Profibus Slave Controller (PBC) interface modules, and a 10-in. EZ-Touch color touchscreen operator interface panel with Profibus DP interface card installed.
AutomationDirect Profibus products have passed Profibus DP certification and are registered with the Profibus Trade Organization. AutomationDirect has been a member of PTO since 1999.
In addition, AutomationDirect has teamed up with Kepware Technologies to showcase both companies’ technology for Ethernet PLC data serving using OPC. An AutomationDirect DirectLogic DL205 PLC system with Ethernet module is the primary master controller in Kepware’s OPC-DX demonstration at the OPC Foundation exhibit in Booth #1623.
OPC DX technology focuses on providing OPC connectivity at the device level. OPC XML technology provides better web-based data access and allows platform-independent interoperability. This expands OPC technology beyond the Windows environment.
