Chandler, AZ — MESA International plans to reinvigorate its education, outreach, and event programs to help manufacturers share best practices and expand their understanding of the impact information technology is playing in modern manufacturing. The efforts reflect the growing volume of joint IT and controls engineering activities evident on the plant floor today.
”MESA is an organization that has always been on the leading edge of helping manufacturers and solution providers to use IT resources as a means of enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability of their businesses,” observed Kevin Roach, newly-elected MESA chairman. ”As we move into 2004, MESA will intensify these efforts and become an even greater resource for manufacturers who wish to turn raw production data into actionable business information, and their production processes into a true competitive advantage.”
Roach will work with the other members of the MESA Board of Directors to develop a new strategic plan for the organization. Also elected for the 2003-2004 year are Karsten Newbury of Siemens, who will serve as vice chairman and Vivek Bapat of Rockwell Automation, who was elected treasurer. Board members-at-large include Carter Johnson of Visiprise, Inc., John Moore of KLA-Tencor, Bruce Spurgeon of Peoplesoft, and Rose Tyksinski of IBM.
