Palatine, Ill. -New from Schneider Electric is a multi-purpose line of servo drives and motors for OEMs. Lexium Servo drive can serve as a smart analog amplifier, high-performance stepper translator, SERCOS-compliant servo drive, or stand-alone motion controller, according to the manufacturer. Lexium works with 230-480 V ac supply and incremental or absolute encoders. Initial models offer 1.5-20 A continuous output (units to 40 A will be available later). Application-specific software for various multiaxis-packaging operations becomes available by matching Lexium with Modicon TSX Premium or Quantum PLC systems.
