Multi-threat detection system features wireless communications

Safesite multi-threat detection system from MSA Instrument Div. monitors, detects, and communicates the presence of up to six potential threats and features wireless capabilities.

Safesite multi-threat detection system from MSA Instrument Div. is designed to monitor, detect, and communicate the presence of up to six potential threats: chemical warfare agents, gamma radiation, volatile organic compounds, toxic industrial chemicals, combustible gas, and oxygen deficiency and enrichment.System combines state-of-the-art detection technology with advanced wireless communications capabilities to provide preventive and countermeasure solutions for such applications as homeland security, emergency response, perimeter monitoring, hazardous response, and confined space monitoring. It consists of two components: Safemtx multi-threat detector and Safecom command center. System can be installed permanently (wired or wireless) for continual monitoring, or deployed as a portable system.

Detector monitors the maximum number of potential threats to reduce risk of exposure and facilitate consequence management. Command center converts data from the detectors into usable information through a graphical user interface. Center can manage up to two systems with 16 detectors per system. Package provides two miles of wireless communication between detector and command center. Any detector can be configured as a repeater, if necessary, ensuring maximum signal strength and reliable deployment without the need to move units.
