Next-generation Optical Character Verifier 2 (OCV2) from Systech International improves the inspection accuracy and reliability of character inspection by incorporating machine vision expertise into the product’s functionality. Product is tolerant of normal acceptable manufacturing variances such as part presentation, rotation, and material finish. The verification process has been optimized for rapid classification of acceptable, damaged, or inappropriate components. Training and inspection procedures have been streamlined for greater plant personnel productivity. The improvements are said to increase overall equipment efficiency by maximizing quality, performance, and availability. Features include a new, more robust font model recognition engine; 360-deg rotation support for operation on unconstrained, rotating parts; streamlined font training for easy development of robust character libraries; and improved font manager with a more intuitive model viewer window. Faster, more efficient processing pushes verification rates to 5,000 characters per second and beyond. Other enhancements include simplified run-time tool controls, speed tool tuning for best performance and rapid deployments; and improved screen graphics for a more intuitive look and feel. www.systech-tips.com Systech InternationalAlso read selections from the– Edited by Jeanine Katzel , consulting editor Control Engineering News Desk Register here .
