Phoenix Contact Inc. recently named Donald Springer as president and ceo of its new U.S.-based production initiative. This project is part of Phoenix Contact’s global expansion strategy, which includes a new plant in China and expanded facilities in Germany. “I’m very pleased to accept this new role in the company, which has been so supportive of our efforts in the U.S.,” says Mr. Springer, who opened Phoenix Contact’s initial U.S. operation in 1981. Mr. Springer will be joined by approximately 50 colleagues from Phoenix Contact’s Harrisburg facility. Jack Nehlig, who joins Phoenix Contact after 19 years with Honeywell Inc., most recently as vp and general manager of the sensing and controls division, will assume Mr. Springer’s former role as Phoenix Contact’s president.
