Rockwell Automation, Inc., has announced the availability of Rockwell FactoryTalk ResilientEdge, an execution architecture for automated manufacturing operations across highly-automated environments.
Built on Rockwell FactoryTalk Optix and integrated with products including Rockwell Plex Manufacturing Execution System (MES), FactoryTalk ResilientEdge provides a common execution layer across machines, people and production systems. The platform supports low-latency execution at the edge and includes cloud capabilities for analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) training and enterprise orchestration. Its edge-cloud architecture allows local operations to continue during connectivity interruptions.
The platform includes a shared production model, native and interoperable connectivity, edge execution with embedded business logic, cloud analytics and AI functions. It is intended to support coordination between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) while reducing the complexity of deploying and managing manufacturing systems.
FactoryTalk ResilientEdge is designed to support structured data flow, reliable execution and scalable architecture for analytics and AI-based applications. The platform provides an execution layer for advanced analytics, AI and closed-loop optimization while maintaining plant-level performance.
The system is designed for interoperability across heterogeneous production environments and for use within Rockwell Automation ecosystems. It also supports phased deployment, centralized monitoring and modular scalability to reduce integration complexity and lifecycle costs.
