Modbus split-bus shelf

August 15, 2024

Providing added flexibility and enhanced rectifier management, OmniOn Power has introduced its GP100 Modbus split-bus shelf. The new shelf incorporates OmniOn’s high-efficiency GP100 rectifiers and provides a Modbus interface for each rectifier, enabling the rectifiers to provide reliable, balanced, three-phase power at different output voltages from within the same, single shelf.

The new shelf is available with 208-volt (V) nominal input, and it converts the output voltage of each rectifier onto individual output buses to power customer loads with varying power needs and separate voltage requirements. For example, when used to power test equipment, each rectifier in the shelf can drive separate test processes, each with its own unique load and voltage requirement.

The shelf includes a Modbus interface for each rectifier which allows the customer to manage the functionality, reports, and alarms of each rectifier separately through their own control system – as well as to program the desired output voltages of each rectifier. Shelves can be operated alone or in parallel to create larger power blocks, depending on customer need.

With efficiencies of up to 96%, the GP100 Modbus split-bus shelf offers industrial equipment manufacturers, including those in the semiconductor and laser industries, a highly efficient compact solution for their high-power needs.
