Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced the Pepperl+Fuchs Tab-IND series of rugged tablets for intralogistics, manufacturing, automotive and outdoor applications. The devices are built to MIL-STD-810H standards and are available in 8-inch Windows-only and 10-inch models with either Windows or Android.
The tablets are built to MIL-STD-810H standards and are intended for routine industrial tasks. The company offers the devices through a build-to-order approach with hardware options and accessories for specific application needs.
The tablets include displays rated at 700 to 800 cd/m² and support operation with gloves or a stylus. Each device also includes a 13 MP camera for documentation and inspection work.
The operating temperature range is -20°C to +50°C, and the tablets are designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 BLE for plant and field communication.
Built-in security features include a fingerprint sensor for login and a front-facing NFC reader for contactless data transfer and access control. For logistics and warehouse use, the tablets can be fitted with a scanner frame for barcode scanning, picking and tracking.
The SmartBack interface supports add-ons such as extra batteries and mounting options including VESA mounts. Custom modules, including Industrial Ethernet or IO-Link, can also be added, and an optional IO dock supports desktop operation with external devices and displays.
The Tab-IND series is designed to align with industrial product life cycle requirements with a minimum five-year availability period, regular software updates and local-language service and support. Using one supplier for devices across standard and hazardous environments can also help simplify deployment and maintenance.
