Phoenix Contact introduced Phoenix Valvetrab Safe Protection Plus (VAL-SPP) surge protective devices with miswiring and touch protection. The SPDs have a specified tightening torque of 3 Newton-meters.
The family includes the VAL-US-SPP for North American power supply systems, aligned with applicable NEMA requirements. The North American version is UL Listed and complies with NFPA 79, which includes requirements for surge protection on safety circuits.
The SPP family includes modular, plug-in remote signaling to support installation and maintenance. The devices use reinforced insulation intended to improve user and system protection. Rapid disconnection is intended to support safer operation during faults.
The VAL-SPP devices are intended for AC and photovoltaic (PV) applications across different nominal voltages. The portfolio includes versions for grids with voltage fluctuations. The devices are rated for installation at altitudes up to 5,000 meters.
