Rockwell Automation Inc . will establish an Asia-Pacific business center in Singapore. Consisting of select business management, engineering, and manufacturing operations, it will be fully operational by 2008.
“This move reflects the next logical step in the Rockwell Automation growth strategy to invest in serving customers worldwide,” said Rockwell Automation’s CEO, Keith D. Nosbusch. “It will also advance the company’s goal to achieve an international revenue target of 50% by 2009.”
Initially comprising several in-demand Asian business segments, it will be strategic for the company’s growth. Elements include: small PLC platforms, distributed I/O, component operator-displays, and component drives. Additionally, a product development center will be established along with coordination of associated design and manufacturing partners.“Singapore is a business friendly location with a strong legal and intellectual property infrastructure underpinning an excellent business environment,” commented Steve Eisenbrown, senior vice president of the company’s Automation Control and Information Group. He added, “We are pleased that our new Asia-Pacific Center is another way we can help our customers maintain their competitive advantage.”
