Canton, Mass. – Robotic Vision Systems Inc. (RVSI) introduced April 19 Visionscape I-Pak Express, a two-camera inspection system designed to meet pharmaceutical industry requirements for accurate, validated inspection of human readable, date/lot, NDC, label ID, bar codes, and Data Matrix symbols. Visionscape I-Pak Express is the latest member of RVSI’s I-Pak series. The product is 21CFR Part 11 compliant and allows manufacturers to comply with the FDA’s current good manufacturing practices (cGMP).

Visionscape I-Pak Express provides accurate identification of incorrect or illegible characters while tolerating normal print variation. Optical character verification (OCV) algorithms adjust to acceptable changes in preprinted or overprinted codes to reduce false rejects. It also provides high-speed reading of bar codes and Data Matrix symbols, even when the symbols are damaged.

The product is built on RVSI’s Visionscape 1000 series vision boards, which function as accelerated frame grabbers. The PCI-based boards feature an on-board vision ASIC that accelerates a range of low-level image processing and analysis algorithms. They support a variety of machine vision cameras and offer on-board digital I/O for triggering, strobe control, and other interfacing. Visionscape I-Pak Express is available in several configurations including board-level with software and industrial PC.
