Aaxeon Technologies released new single-chip design PCI Express serial cards.
Brea, CA – Aaxeon Technologies released new PCI Express serial cards, which feature a new single-chip design to increase performance. Current PCI Express serial cards use a 2-chip solution which essentially uses an added bridge chip to change a typical PCI card into a PCI Express card. The bridge-chip solution was not very efficient. With single-chip design, everything is integrated into one chip for increased throughput and reduced CPU load. The new card retains the benefits of its predecessors, providing serial bus speeds of 250 Mb/sec to 4 Gb/sec, full plug-and-play compatibility, serial power over Pin-9, and the elimination of IRQ and I/O address conflict problems.Other features include full compliance with PCI Express Base Specifications, Revision 1.1; UARTs compatible with 16C550-type devices; baud rate up to 921.6Kbps; 128-byte deep FIFO per transmitter and receiver; detection of bad data in the receiver FIFO; 9-bit data framing, as well as 5,6,7, and 8 bits; the provision of 5 V or 12 V over serial connectors; and complete software supports for Windows 95/98/Me, NT, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, and Linux.
