Patrick Gürtler, spokesman for Swiss Automation Week (S.A.W. 98), says the industrial automation fair to be held here Sept. 1-4, 1998, is already larger than the previous edition two years ago. With more than 300 exhibitors, the show will be divided into seven sectors: industrial control systems, sensors, drives, fluid technology, industrial handling and robotics, software and services, and research and training. The trade fair is supported by the Swiss Automation Pool (SAP) and the Society for Applied Oil Hydraulics and Pneumatics (GOP). Mr. Gürtler adds that two special presentations will be made at the fair. The Visitors Forum will be designed as a hands-on practitioners’ forum for drive technology. Leading companies in the sector will make presentations on electrical and mechanical drive technology. In another section, called the Software and Services Forum, exhibitors will be able to identify with customer problems and discuss solutions. Interested firms will be able to rent space in the fully equipped workplace, which also has catering services and information desks for exhibitors and visitors.
