Houston, TX – A test package consisting of a software module and a flexible hardware card that carries all necessary digital I/O channels is available for checking safety and shutdown valves without disrupting production in petrochemical and other critical safety plants. The test package partially strokes the valve during normal plant operations to check that it is not stuck in the open position and allows automation of this testing using only standard ESD system components. The software checks the movement of the valve after only a few percent of its travel before returning it to the open position. It satisfies IEC 61508 requirements and confirms the performance on the valve without process interruption. It is certified by the TÜV as suitable for AK6 applications.
