“Innovation—the element of success for our industry” will be the focus of the keynote address at the upcoming Measurement, Control and Automation Association (MCAA) Industry Breakfast. The annual event takes place in Houston on Oct. 6, the second day of ISA Expo 2004 . Marijn E. Dekkers, president and CEO of Thermo Electron Corp. will give the MCAA talk. Nearly 200 senior executives from instrumentation and systems companies are expected to attend the breakfast event.
Dekkers will discuss how his company approaches innovation and why he believes the next significant innovations—those that separate winners from losers in industrial automation and control—will come from the combination of strength in analysis and detection with strength in measurement and control. Many companies cite innovation—how to plant it, cultivate it, and harvest it—as their #1 concern. Thermo Electron has embedded innovation into the four winning values (involvement, intensity, integrity, and innovation) it has established to drive its businesses.
Dekkers, a chemical engineer and native of The Netherlands, has been president and CEO of Thermo Electron since 2002. The Boston-based company provides analytical instruments, scientific equipment, services, and software solutions for life science, drug discovery, clinical, environmental, and industrial laboratories.
MCAA provides information and networking resources for manufacturers and distributors of instrumentation, systems, and software used in industrial process control and factory automation worldwide. Click here for more information or to register for the event.
