USDATA releases industrial automation software

Richardson, TX—USDATA Corp. released Jan. 8 its FactoryLink 7.1 software, which it reports is a flexible suite of servers, clients, utilities and development tools for industrial process knowledge and control applications.

FactoryLink 7.1’s functions and enhancements to enable users to build robust applications. These include:

  • Improved ease-of-use in designing and building distributed applications requiring visu-alization via introduction of FactoryLink .NET Client, which is the next generation of USDATA’s WebClient product;

  • Bi-directional connectivity to diverse systems and applications via an included XML connector;

  • Reduced maintenance and application development time through the introduction of dynamic branching that allows for hierarchical substitutions of tag groups at run time or development time;

  • Advanced network communication optimizations between FactoryLink servers and clients resulting in enhanced run-time performance;

  • Standards-based scripting via the inclusion of Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA);

  • Easier-to-use and enhanced trending and alarm viewing ActiveX controls;

  • Enhanced support for multi-user applications and migration from previous versions;

  • Simplified set-up utilities that reduce installation time and effort; and

  • Broader target coverage through the introduction of new server sizes.
