Users confer on systems, safety, security, simulation

In October, Honeywell hosted a record 450 customers from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at its annual users group meeting. Prague, Czech Republic, was the venue chosen for its central location and growing prominence in an expanded European Union. One of seven, annual, Honeywell worldwide conferences held annually, sessions are customer-defined. Issues addressed included systems migration, safety and security, simulation, Experion PKS R300, and corrosion.

Honeywell said an informal setting encouraged networking opportunities; 2005’s agenda featured customer presentations, technology breakout sessions, topical panel discussions, and an extensive demonstration and exhibit area.

“The conference offers a unique opportunity to draw together customers from different industries across EMEA to share ideas and best practices that will help improve business performance,” said Paul Orzeske, vice president and general manager, Honeywell Process Solutions EMEA. He said that customers’ ideas and feedback help Honeywell continue to deliver better technology, service and lifecycle support.Attending customers included Shell, ExxonMobil, Borealis, Repsol, Preem, Sasol, MOL, and Akzo Nobel. MTL Instruments, Pepperl & Fuchs, Intergraph and Stratus Technologies sponsored the event. Other Honeywell partners involved included BearingPoint, Pepperl, and Fuchs and Spazio—the Milan-based specialist in industrial architecture and control building design.
