Achievements, Advancement & Career-related Industry Contributions
Chris began his career with Maverick 10 years ago as an Engineer I, advancing to Engineer II, Senior Engineer, and currently a Project Manager (PM). He holds a P.E. license in Texas and the PMP certification. He has also served roles within Maverick as a Talent Lead, mentoring and coaching newer engineers, and High-Performance HMI Subject Matter Expert, providing technical guidance and oversight across many different migration projects. He has also performed a role as a PM trainer, teaching aspiring PMs on workflows and best practices. Chris has written multiple case studies highlighting the successful real-world results of HP-HMI migrations that he has executed, as well publishing a video blog in an automation newsletter demonstrating the workflow and benefits of installing high-performance graphics. Chris has led several successful graphics and DCS controls migrations, SIS upgrades, and fired heater and compressor replacement/upgrade projects over his career for many different end-users across multiple industries, supporting all phases of project execution including functional specification, quality assurance, acceptance testing, and startup/commissioning. He has become a trusted advisor to his clients, particularly in the area of high-performance graphic development and implementation.
Non-work-related Activities & Hobbies
During the past year, Chris has been taking on many different home renovation projects. This has included replacing all flooring across his home, replacing baseboards and moldings, and installing custom board and batten accent molding. He has learned most of these new skills as he takes on a new project, learning from videos and articles. He will be taking on a bathroom renovation for his next project.
Interesting Details
- Chris is a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, where he also participated on his school’s Demonstration Team and Leadership Team.
- Chris has also participated in recreational sports leagues outside of work – most notably, Chris and a team of his Maverick coworkers participated in a local kickball league in Baton Rouge, LA, and won the league championship in 2015.

“It’s a rewarding career path that provides the opportunity to work in many different industries (I’ve been able to work in oil & gas, chemicals, pulp and paper, food and beverage). Getting exposure to so many different industries has given me opportunities to learn new skills and expand my technical skill set. There are many avenues to grow professionally, either technically or in management (people or project). I’ve also enjoyed the opportunity to mentor other engineers to help them grow in their careers, while also having the opportunity myself to learn from others and grow.
