Adam Greear’s hard work pays off in his projects. He is determined to thoroughly research, problem-solve and find solutions to satisfy customer needs. Achievements, Advancement & Career-related Industry Contributions

Adam is an Ignition Gold Certified User with Inductive Automation. While at Syscon Automation, his current workplace, he has been consistently recognized as exceeding expectations in his evaluations and is frequently asked to step in for more senior engineers when they are unavailable. Adam was awarded employee of the year at Premier Tech Chronos in 2018. While at Premier Tech Chronos he was also awarded a promotion from an installations technician to programming and automation technician. His academic achievements include a Six Sigma Green Belt, a bachelor’s degree in technology management (cum laude), and an associate’s degree in automation and robotics technology. Adam is also a frequent contributor in everyday solutions in the workplace. Adam provides thoughtful insights during meetings and finds time to help coworkers with projects while still completing his own tasks. He works well both as a leader of a group and as a thoughtful and contributive team member.

Non-work-related Activities & Hobbies

Adam’s hobbies include creating ingenious automation for his home, including writing code for his garden sprinkler system, programming the lights to turn on and off over Wi-Fi, and automating phone notifications for the washer and dryer. His most complex home project was creating a system that would detect his car coming down the street and open the garage door. His home automation hobbies help him practice testing various devices and systems of different brands and qualities and making them work well together. It also hones his problem-solving skills.

Interesting Details

Adam has been consistently willing to travel wherever help is needed on a jobsite, both in the United States and abroad. He loves getting to see how various plants solve problems and experience other workplace cultures. While travelling he also loves to experience new places. Adam is also very proactive. He isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and he’s always ready to ask questions to get other’s perspectives on a problem and how it might be solved to integrate into his own solutions.

Adam chose this career path to be able to work with his hands solving real world problems that have a direct impact on everyday life. There will always be a need for controls engineers as manufacturing continues to become more automated, and Adam enjoys being part of creating safe automation solutions.
