MAX-240 includes integral drivers and power supply. The unit is housed in a heat- sinked, fan-cooled, compact enclosure. At 4 A, 40 V, the unit is designed to operate 23 and 34 frame size step motors.

Standard features include 2k bytes of nonvolatile memory for program storage, extended user I/O connections, programmable motor current, and independent acceleration and deceleration ramping.
