Infor reports release of SCM Advanced Planner 5.0, its supply chain planning and optimization solution, which boosts the power to process more complex supply chain configurations and calculations based on a new 64-bit architecture.

“It’s set up to do holistic modeling with all the constraints in a single model,” says Andrew Kinder, director of SCM product marketing. “The goal is to put everything—manufacturing, distribution, and inventory—in one model and get the most perfect total solve possible,” rather than doing each one sequentially, Kinder explains.

Molson Coors , the first to deploy 5.0, has a highly complex global supply chain challenge in managing 750 product lines across 6 breweries and 40 distribution centers. The new release enabled it to bump up the number of variables in planning optimization calculations from 7 million to 38 million.
