MACHINE CONTROL & DISCRETE SENSORS

Omron Electronics’ (Schaumburg, IL) ZX Laser Sensor’s amplifier interfaces with three visible red through beams and eight visible red displacement sensor heads. This innovative flexibility allows the same sensor amplifier platform to be used for many measurement sensing applications, saving engineering time and money.

ZX’s small size, long 500-mm displacement sensing distance, and 2,000-mm through beam sensing distance further provides measurement solutions for many applications. Dimensionally, the 30 x 31 x 64-mm amplifier and 17 x 39 x 33-mm sensor head make it one of the world’s smallest measurement sensors.

ZX also features direct PC connectivity, enabling users to easily monitor operations, gather data, and change operating values. Using the smart laser sensor’s software and a PC screen greatly expands amplifier display. Other features include waveform monitoring, data logging, and PC control of amplifier operational settings.

In addition, ZX has a resolution indicator that allows users to make informed decisions on critical acceptable high and low measurement values. ZX offers an optional calculating unit, which is used for two-sided thickness measurement, eliminating the need for a separate panel meter or controller, which further eases installation.

Also, ZX has three separate one-touch teach functions-position, two-point, and automatic-that enable easy programming of acceptable measurement values and greater application flexibility.
