ISA100.11a compliance group releases conformance test kits
ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute delivers package to verify wireless device interoperability and stack conformance.
The ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) has announced the availability of its ISA100.11a Stack Conformance and Device Interoperability Test Kits designed to verify conformance to the ISA100.11a standard. Both kits verify correct communication behavior of wireless devices as defined in the ISA100.11a standard and provide comprehensive packages and tools for troubleshooting, debugging, and regression testing of ISA100.11a products.
The kits are aimed at device manufacturers who want to develop products to conform to the ISA100.11a standard. “The Wireless Test Kits provide manufacturers with a complete set of components to easily verify their product before submission for certification and guarantee conformance with the ISA100.11a technical standard,” says Andre Ristaino, managing director, ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute. “The test kits used by the WCI accredited test labs are the same kits available to supplier organizations.”
Since maintaining device interoperability between vendors is critical for wired and wireless networking platforms, such testing protocols are necessary to verify performance before equipment is released to customers. In this specific application, the ISA100.11a Stack Conformance Test Kit enables the user to ensure a manufacturer’s communication stack conforms to the formal ISA100.11a registration testing and will verify the correct communication behavior of a wireless device as defined in the ISA100.11a standard.
This kit allows a user or manufacturer to verify ISA100.11a communication stack conformance prior to device interoperability testing. Components include a script server and software, test script source code and technical documentation, four diagnostic backbone routers, reference device under test, and an Ethernet router.
The group says that both ISA100.11a Wireless Test Kits are available now and will be used by organizations developing products to the ISA100.11a standard. The test kits are typically used in research and development and quality assurance groups of supplier organizations. Both kits are delivered with a one year warranty and require only a PC with web browser.
