Siemens launches ‘Measuring Success’ tour
Siemens begins a tour to connect customers to automation technologies inside a 53-ft mobile showcase with process instrumentation, process analyzers and process automation products and solutions.
Siemens announced the launch of its Measuring Success tour, setting out from its 2011 Automation Summit in Orlando, FL. Hitting the road is a 53-ft mobile showcase of process instrumentation, process analyzers and process automation products and solutions.
“Our goal is to be a full-service and long-term partner with our customers, using our experience and knowledge to work together in solving challenges, reducing costs, minimizing risks and increasing productivity and profitability,” says Raj Batra, president of Siemens industry automation division. “The tour is a testament to our customer-first attitude and will bring products and solutions to our customers’ doorsteps.”
This division includes many types of measurement and control products:
• Level
• Pressure
• Temperature
• Flow transmitters
• Valve instrumentation
• Regulators and relays
• Process protection instruments
• Weigh feeders
• Belt scales
• Analytical system integration
• Gas chromatographs
• Continuous gas analyzers, and
• Laser analytics.
These types of products can be found supporting a host of industries like water, power generation, oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, glass, cement, and metals.
In addition to showing a broad and innovative portfolio of products, the showcase highlights Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) with a comprehensive display that demonstrates how information can be shared seamlessly to improve customer operations. The measuring success showcase features a control room, process area, instrument shop, and analytics shelter all based on Siemens technology. The tour will travel across the country, engaging customers with Siemens process measurement experts.
Relating this interaction with the process automation community is a major motivation for the recently launched ‘Measuring Success’ blog. This Siemens blog features weekly articles from process instrumentation and analytics specialists addressing real-time concerns within the process industry. It allows feedback from end users, opening a dialog of two-way communication for problem solving, technical issues, and best practices from industry experts.
