Software tool for modeling and simulation shaped by organizations in 85 countries
MapleSim, a new high-performance multi-domain modeling and simulation tool from Maplesoft, is available after months of pilot testing and feedback from approximately 1,500 organizations, making the software more like pencil and paper.
Waterloo, Canada – Ever wished that software was more like pencil and paper? Being able to create a system diagram on a computer screen using physical modeling techniques means less time spent in creating models, especially when the software automatically generates model equations. Those are some of the results applied after months of pilot testing and feedback from approximately 1,500 organizations across 85 countries to create MapleSim, a new high-performance multi-domain modeling and simulation tool from Maplesoft ,

MapleSim applies symbolic preprocessing techniques to model equations, creating simplified, efficient models. Code generated from the models can be exported to real-time and other applications. Because of symbolic preprocessing, code runs 10 to 100 times faster for complex models.
MapleSim tools for model design and analysis, which include dynamic analysis, control design, and optimization, can create custom components and live design documentation. The advanced symbolic computing engine and traditional numeric solvers supercharge the simulation and modeling process. The company claims that with the Maple computation engine to provide the automatic generation of equations, model simplification, and analysis tools, savings in the design process can range from weeks to months.
According to Edward Melcarek, director of research and development at Sono-Dyne Inc., a pilot user of MapleSim, “The palettes and menu are very well thought out and I especially like the drag-and-drop modules that can be calibrated at one’s preferences.” He added that he could see the math modeling software becoming a must-have tool among engineers, scientists, and designers.
