unveiled an addition to its

B6TS application-ready touch sensing IC family, with value-added/program-driven 8- and 16-channel LF versions

.ves. The series integrates detecting and processing functions into a single-chip microcontroller that can be quickly programmed, Omron says.

Workbench model B6TW is a tool that enables design-to-function verification. It can be operated by any designer with a basic knowledge of digital circuitry for parameter setting, operation monitoring, and capacitance calculation functions. Unlike membrane switches, they require no special tooling, Omron says.

“Omron’s touch sensing ICs offer OEMs reduced time to market and lower application cost as compared to other touch panel devices,” says Omron spokesperson Cami Marsh.

B6TS comes in four versions: the 4-channel SSOP-20 package B6TS-04LT, the 8-channel QFP-32 package B6TS-08NF, the new 8-channel QFP-32 package B6TS-08LF, and the new 52 pin TQFP package B6TS-16LF.ctively.
