Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) has a president. Here's why it's a good thing.

Lynda J. Patterson, MS, CAE, is president of the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA).

Madison, WI – Lynda J. Patterson, MS, CAE, was recently hired as the president of Control System Integrators Association (CSIA). Effective Jan. 1, 2009, Patterson, along with her team of professionals, is responsible for managing the business and administrative functions of CSIA including membership, meetingplanning, finance, public relations and communications. The CSIA home office is now in Madison, WI. CSIA made the announcement Feb. 12.

“It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to work with CSIA professionals who hold themselves to the highest standards of business and project management practices,” says Patterson. “The members of this organization truly are committed to providing the best for their clients.”
CSIA (www.controlsys.org) provides its member-companies with the means to improve their business and executive management skills in support of the belief that being a good system integrator goes hand-in-hand with operating a good business. CSIA’s trademark Certified Member program provides an industry-specific means for end-users to identify areas of importance and minimize the uncertainties in selecting a system integrator, while also offering a framework for integrators to evaluate and improve their own businesses.
Norm O’Leary comments
CSIA Executive Director Norm O’Leary said, “We developed criteria and standards and performed an in-depth search to find just the right person for this role. All of our final candidates were quite good, but Lynda Patterson was outstanding. She had the personality, communication skills, and confidence that we were searching for. She also has broad experience and expertise in this field accompanied with youthful, innovative ideas and exuberance that we believed were really essential to develop and grow our membership.”
Long-time system integration editor likes the move
Vance VanDoren, consulting editor for Control Engineering and editor of the publication’s Automation Integrator Guide , noted that “CSIA has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years and continues to attract new members from the community of control system integrators and automation product vendors. In fact, the CSIA has grown so large that they’ve outgrown their original management structure based on a single paid executive and a host of volunteers. Lynda Patterson’s company – Association Acumen – is assuming responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the CSIA so that its members can focus more on the organization’s mission of improving the overall professionalism of the control system integration industry.
“Ms. Patterson’s first challenge,” VanDoren continued, “will be organizing the CSIA’s annual executive conference coming up April 30 – May 2, 2009, in Naples, FL. Registration for the conference is open. Vendors and system integrators alike are invited to attend either as CSIA members or guests.”
Control System Integrators Association now is based at 22 N. Carroll St., Ste. 300, Madison, WI, 53703; phone: 800-661-4914; [email protected].
