Process control systems: Well Producer is a prepackaged control unit for onshore gas wells control using Yokogawa's low power Stardom RTU solution. It provides all the necessary control and flow computer functions for gas wells preconfigured. This is a Control Engineering 2012 Engineers’ Choice honorable mention.
Well Producer from Yokogawa offers a built-in web server with an open Modbus communication to any SCADA Host connection that can configure all parameter settings. The controller provides an API21.1 compliant flow computer and gas well controller in one device. One controller can configure up to 12-meter runs together with choke valve control, separator control, plunger lift control, tank control, other equipment control, and shutdown logic. It provides for wireless or Fieldbus connectivity to intelligent field devices for asset management. Well Producer was designed for conventional and tight/shale gas applications. The solution is also a perfect replacement for older RTUs, providing enhanced data availability at the operation center. Well Producer has been found to drastically reduce commissioning effort and the time required at well sites.
