Moeller GmbH (Bonn, Germany) and Siemens AG’s Automation & Drives Group announced at Hannover Fair in March that Moeller will standardize on Siemens software for its automation solutions. Moeller will license Siemens software for configuring and programming and for operator control and process monitoring. This software includes Simatic Step 7 universal development environment; Simatic WinCC human-machine interface and SCADA system; and WinAC software-based logic controller. Moeller now offers the common, Microsoft Windows-based architecture of Siemens software with its Xtra Combinations, a modular industrial control system that allows standard hardware to be assembled in modules for a given application.
