Control Engineering , with the global resources of Reed Elsevier, continues to work with leading sources in manufacturing, controls, automation, and instrumentation to provide you with more in 2004 of what you need to make your life more productive and advance your career. Here’s some of the fun of “more in ’04” related to our new electronic publishing initiatives.

The depth and quality of the redesigned Control Engineering Online at www.controleng.com now offers easier layout for what you need most—daily news, product information, online extras, and archived issues, along with even more powerful research and features. A new horizontal navigation bar puts more within reach without scrolling, including the Automation Integrator Guide Online and Buyer’s Guide Online (site registration required) and connections to Control Engineering Europe, Control Engineering China, and Control Engineering Polska editions. Automated content flow, four easy-to-access industry channels, quick polling ability, and more unique content are designed to fulfill the needs of those who visit online an average of 95,000 times a month. There’s more to come—our online redesign is just the tip of our electronic projects in ’04.

The immediacy of Control Engineering ‘s targeted, topical e-mail newsletters, featuring news and analysis from our editors and industry resources, have made them valuable for our readers. As a result, we’ll launch two more newsletters in ’04. The first, Product Review, will highlight the latest technologies and most recent product releases. The second, Update Online, extends two well-read print departments, “Technology Update” and “Application Update,” in electronic format to provide the latest about what your peers are doing in the field and how.

Our research efforts, online and in print, continue to be the most extensive, with monthly “Product Focus” research and analysis, a customer satisfaction survey, a purchasing study, and various custom research efforts, in addition to more online surveys. Look for more searchable databases and interactive research during the second phase of controleng.com’s expansion scheduled for March.

We also have numerous Webcasts planned to highlight our 50thanniversary, our new content offerings, and our perennially popular editorial departments. This growth comes in context of a more hopeful economic climate for 2004. Thanks for making us your most trusted and relied-upon resource for information. Let any of us know how to serve you better.
