Littelfuse, Inc. announced two new Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) magnetic switches: Littelfuse LF21112TMR omnipolar switch and Littelfuse LF11215TMR bipolar switch. The compact devices are designed to provide magnetic sensitivity, thermal stability and low power consumption for applications including smart meters, wearables, consumer electronics, industrial automation and home security systems.
By integrating TMR technology with a low-power CMOS design, the switches are designed to offer performance advantages compared with Hall-effect sensors and older magnetic switch technologies. The additions expand the Littelfuse magnetic sensor portfolio into battery-sensitive and always-on applications.
LF21112TMR: The company’s first omnipolar TMR switch detects North and South magnetic poles, allowing flexibility in magnet placement. Typical current draw is 200nA.
LF11215TMR: A bipolar digital TMR switch designed for fast detection with 1.5 µA current consumption and 17 Gauss magnetic sensitivity.
