The new Beckhoff CX82xx Embedded PC series uses an ARM Cortex A53 processor architecture with two cores to provide higher compute performance for compact control applications. Released at the same time, the CX9240 uses a 4-core version of the processor. The CX82xx measures 71 mm x 100 mm x 73 mm (W x H x D) and the CX9240 measures 84 mm x 100 mm x 91 mm (W x H x D).
The CX82xx Embedded PC series is an update to the CX81xx series and combines higher computing power with a compact format for automation and control applications. The ARM Cortex A53 processor provides 64-bit operation, a 1.2 GHz clock frequency and two CPU cores. The series includes a 1 Gbit Ethernet interface and double 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM for main memory.
The CX82xx Embedded PC series includes:
- CX8200 with Gbit interface
- CX8210 with Gbit and EtherCAT slave interface
- CX8280 with Gbit and RS232/RS485 interface
- CX8290 with Gbit interface and a second switched Ethernet port supporting protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and BACnet
The CX9240 Embedded PC is an update to the CX9020 and uses a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex processor.
