Schneider Electric has launched Schneider TeSys Tera , an intelligent motor management system for industrial environments. TeSys Tera combines protection, control and monitoring in one system for industrial applications including water and wastewater, metal, mineral and mining, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and oil and gas. The company introduced the system at Texas Water 2026, a regional water industry conference in the United States.
TeSys Tera combines motor protection, control and monitoring in a modular device designed for retrofits and new installations. It monitors parameters including current, voltage, power and power factor, and sends real-time data to automation systems to support monitoring and control. Analog I/O allows the system to connect with sensors to identify operating anomalies and support predictive maintenance, in some cases without requiring additional monitoring hardware.
Key capabilities include:
- Load shedding and auto-restart to support pump and blower operation during or after power disruptions and limit manual intervention
- Predictive diagnostics with pre-fault alarms, trip logging and trend analysis to identify overheating, imbalance, electrical faults and mechanical wear before they contribute to downtime
- On-unit programming through SoMove software, which may reduce reliance on PLC programming skills for setup and maintenance
- Motor-level energy monitoring of active and reactive power, consumption and power factor, providing data to identify inefficiencies in motor-driven processes
- Support for EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Profibus DP, Profinet for use with existing SCADA and DCS systems
TeSys Tera supports diagnostics, system monitoring and energy-use management, and it integrates with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure platform for centralized monitoring across multiple sites.
TeSys Tera is available now in North America for new installations and retrofits.
