The redundant S7-1500 CPUs are being continuously innovated. With firmware version V3.0, the revised CPUs 1513R-1 PN and 1515R-2 PN will not only get more functionality, but also performance improvements. Moreover, the program memory of the CPUs will be doubled and the data memory increased by about 50%. Thanks to the use of the second processor core for communication tasks, the communication performance will be significantly enhanced, resulting in a higher data throughput. Simultaneously, the jitter in the user program at high communication load will be reduced considerably. Operation of the integrated display is significantly smoother with the new CPUs.
