New automated hygienic handling solution for food, life sciences

Fizyr and Yaskawa Europe announced a new automated hygienic handling solution for the food and life sciences industries. The solution follows Fizyr and Yaskawa’s announcement of an expanded partnership, including a non-exclusive go-to-market strategy for Europe. The hygienic handling solution integrates Yaskawa’s new HD-series robotsFizyr PANOPTIC vision AI, a binpick food cell from Van Wees Waalwijk, and programming support from Alpha Robotica.

The initial installation is for a salad production company, where two HD7 robots place pieces of raw peppers and bags of salad dressing in bowls of lettuce. Fizyr PANOPTIC identifies the position of the objects and their placement. The machine is mobile and can be moved along the production line. It operates by connecting to power and compressed air and selecting the program. The system includes a turntable and holds up to four crates of ingredients, allowing production  to continue  during crate change.
