New compact I/O modules bring more wiring choices to PLC racks

AutomationDirect has added I/O modules for the AutomationDirect Productivity2000 PLC series. The new combination I/O modules integrate multiple input and output points in one module, which may reduce panel space and system cost. Available options include DC input modules paired with sinking or sourcing transistor outputs, as well as relay output versions for applications requiring higher voltage or current load switching. The options allow designers to match modules to application requirements.

The new 16-point solid-state relay module supports high-speed, high-cycle switching with solid-state switching and electrical noise. It adds to the existing solid-state module lineup for applications with frequent switching requirements. Additional analog input modules provide 16-bit resolution with channel-to-channel isolation, allowing mixed signal types and supporting noise immunity in environments where signal integrity is important.

Productivity Suite updates add Structured Text programming alongside Ladder Logic, allowing developers to select a programming method for each task or combine both within a single project. New UDI Libraries support reuse and standardization of existing code structures, while the added Delta contact function supports detection of changing conditions between program scans.
