What Makes Edgar an Engineering Leader
Edgar has led and implemented control systems projects ranging from small-scale initiatives to multimillion-dollar efforts, consistently exceeding client expectations while elevating his team. He leads by example and is driven by a passion for serving others.
“Nothing fulfills me more than creating or identifying opportunities for people to grow,” Edgar has said. “I believe our greatest potential lies within, not in our circumstances.” His leadership encourages others to unlock that potential. In both career and life, Edgar holds himself accountable and inspires those around him to take ownership and aim higher.
Achievements, Advancements & Career-related Industry Contributions
Edgar began his career in control systems integration in 2011 as an intern at a 10-person company, where he supported a PLC-5 migration project by developing validation documents. His drive for growth quickly led him to system configuration, project management, and eventually client-facing responsibilities as the primary contact for identifying new opportunities.
He later worked at two additional integrators, expanding his expertise by designing, implementing, and managing automation projects for biotechnology clients.
In 2017, Edgar joined RoviSys as a project engineer in the Boston office. His success on a key project led to a promotion to group manager within the same year, where he began leading large-scale projects and mentoring engineers.
In 2019, Edgar relocated to Georgia to help launch the RoviSys Georgia office, which began with seven engineers. Since then, he has focused on building a culture centered on innovation, training, high-quality project management, and execution excellence. Promoted to director in 2024, he now leads an office of nearly 50 engineers.
In 2025, Edgar also assumed responsibility for launching RoviSys’ new Puerto Rico operation, where he is building a team to support clients across Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Non-work-related Activities & Hobbies
Edgar enjoys playing tennis and working out regularly, activities that help him manage stress, stay focused, and maintain a healthy balance. “It clears my mind, sharpens my thinking, and allows me to recharge so I can approach challenges with clarity and energy,” he explains.
He also volunteers actively in his local business community, serving on his county chamber of commerce board of directors for more than three years and co-chairing the county manufacturing council for two years.
Interesting Details
Edgar credits his family as the foundation of his success. “I have two top priorities in my life: my family, and then my career,” he says. “Much of what I’ve accomplished, truly about 90%, is thanks to the unconditional support and belief of my wife, Lydia.”
He is a proud husband and father to stepdaughter Noray (21), who is about to graduate with a degree in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and two sons: André (14) and Edgar (12). Being a role model for his family remains one of his greatest motivations and a driving force behind his personal and professional growth.
Why Edgar Chose This Career
“I didn’t choose this career path; it chose me,” Edgar reflects. While earning his mechanical engineering degree, he took control systems courses but had not initially planned to pursue the field. In 2011, he interned at a small company to support a PLC-5 migration. Initially hired to create reports for a federal energy program, he found himself out of work when the contract ended.
Edgar recalls, “I kept calling weekly until the owner asked me to show up at a biotech site for that migration. I showed up, and that moment launched my career.”
